The Glastonbury Pilgrimage takes place each year in the ruins of the ancient Abbey. The afternoon starts with a Procession around the grounds and town, with music sung by the Diocesan Choir.
The event then continues with Mass, again in the Abbey ruins, at 3.30pm. The Mass is celebrated by the Bishop and this year takes as its theme Mary, Mother of Divine Hope.
The music for the Mass will include:
Bob Hurd As the Deer Longs
Michael Joncas Take and Eat
Glory to God/Lamb of God Mass of Christ the Saviour (Schutte)
Glastonbury Acclamations (Walker)
Gospel Acclamation Alleluia Where two or three (Le Poidevin)
Hail Holy Queen (Le Poidevin)
plus, of course, much more!
There is no rehearsal before the day, but we will rehearse briefly in situ in the grounds at 1.30pm.
If you would like to be part of the Choir for this celebration - and everyone is most welcome - please fill out the form below. Please note that doing so doesn't mean a commitment to actually attend, but will allow us have some feel for the number of people we might expect.
