Clifton Diocese Musicians Day - 25th November

Dear all,

Just a quick reminder that the Musicians Day is just TWO Weeks away. A huge thank you to all those who have said that they want to come along and take part.

If you haven't yet registered, please take a moment to register on our website at www.cliftonms.com/diocesanchoir/musiciansmass2012.php. It would be good to have as many people as possible, so don't be shy.

The timetable for the day is:

2.30pm - meet up and rehearse music for 6pm Mass. There will be a break during this rehearsal!

5pm - time for coffee, tea, biscuits, meeting other musicians, talking about music experiences

6pm - Mass for Christ the King, celebrated in the Cathedral by Bishop Declan

Venue: Clifton Cathedral.

The Mass in which we will be taking part, will be at 6pm in Clifton Cathedral, and will be celebrated by Bishop Declan.

Music in the Mass will include plainsong, Taize chant, hymns and songs, the Mass of St Paul the Apostle, and will include music arranged written and prepared especially for the occasion.

Please do consider coming along, and bring all your friends, family and colleagues. It will be a great celebration of Christ the King, a great celebration of music (remember that it will take place just days after the feast of St Cecilia!) and a chance to reflect on a year of the new translation and a chance to meet lots of other diocesan musicians.

For those who have already registered with us saying that you would like to come to the Musicians Mass, a detailed programme and list of music, including many rehearsal materials, will be sent out soon.

If you would like to bring an instrument to play, you will be more than welcome - please let us know in the information box when you register using the link on this page.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us via the website at www.cliftonms.com or by email to martin@cliftonms.com

Clifton Music Service website

The Clifton Music Service website at cliftonms.com has some great resources on it for you to use, plus more information about the Music Service, which is updated on a regular basis with news of Diocesan Music and cathedral services.

Give us some idea of what you want to see on it (for instance, a Mass/Service planner is in development, and we hope to get some forums going again soon) and we'll do our best to implement them.

Oh, and we've also got a Twitter account. Follow us at @cliftonmusic
