Upcoming events

Dear Diocesan Musicians,

Many thanks to those who have registered to sing in the events that we've got coming up over the next few months.

Those events are:

28th June - Daily Office at Clifton Cathedral: Evening Prayer 1

We are inviting you to join the congregation at the Cathedral and members of the Catedral music groups to celebrate our Diocesan patrons, Ss Peter and Paul, in singing Evening Prayer 1 on their Feast Day which is the 28th June. This is the start of a weekend in which the Cathedral will celebrate the whole Daily Office in the course of 24 hours.

The music for Evening Prayer will include a range of styles and formats appropriate to parish use.

If you feel you can take part, please visit this page to register. It'll be the perfect antidote to World Cup fever (apparently it's quarter-finals day)!

13th July - Glastonbury Pilgrimage

The annual Pilgrimage to Glastonbury, a great event in the ancient ruins of the Abbey. We start with a short rehearsal, followed by a procession around the town (with singing!) and finish with Mass in the Abbey grounds. The music this year includes the Mass of St Paul the Apostle and Marco Frisina's Anima Christi and other songs and hymns.

Again, we'd be grateful if you could visit this page to register, so that we have an idea of the numbers that we're expecting and can bring the right amount of music.

25th July - Ordination

Ordinations are always joyful celebrations of our Diocesan unity. This year we see two young men joining the priesthood in our Diocese. If you would like to join in the music for the day, you will be more than welcome. Let us know by emailing Martin Le Poidevin

Training Days

People who have registered for the Summer Training Day(s) will have received an email from us about the dates. If anybody is still interested, there are

Clifton Music Service website

The Clifton Music Service website at cliftonms.com has some great resources on it for you to use, plus more information about the Music Service, which is updated on a regular basis with news of Diocesan Music and cathedral services.

Give us some idea of what you want to see on it (for instance, a Mass/Service planner is in development, and we hope to get some forums going again soon) and we'll do our best to implement them.
